What is Topaz Photo AI?

Topaz Photo AI is auto-pilot for your image quality needs. Import an image to Topaz Photo AI and it will use specially trained AI models to first detect the unique problems in detail, clarity, and resolution before intelligently applying adjustments that will maximize your image quality. This software by the team at Topaz Labs is created to be an all-in-one solution to enhance your images using the power of machine-learning AI technology.

For users experienced with Topaz Labs image quality applications, it combines the functionality of DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Gigapixel AI into one application with an intelligent auto setting that can pick adjustments with strengths for you.

What are the operating system and system requirements for Topaz Photo AI?

Click here to view system requirements for Topaz Photo AI. Currently, Topaz Photo AI is supported on the Mac and Windows operating systems for desktops and laptops. Other systems such as Linux, tablets, or smartphones are unsupported.

Does Topaz Photo AI replace existing Image Quality applications (DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, Gigapixel AI)?

We created Topaz Photo AI to be an auto-pilot for image quality. We started with the image quality issues we already have experience in — denoising, sharpening, and upscaling — and will continue to add more features for improving image quality. The other image quality applications will give you much more control over fixing these specific problems.

As we continue to improve Topaz Photo AI, we will keep up with updates to the other image quality applications.

Eventually, Topaz Photo AI will have all the features needed to fully take over the function of DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Gigapixel AI. At that point, it may fully replace these applications

How do I get Topaz Photo AI?

Any user who currently owns the Photo Upgrade Plan and all three image quality applications (DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Gigapixel AI) can claim a license to Topaz Photo AI for free. If you are eligible for a free license, you can log in to your Topaz Labs account to claim your Topaz Photo AI license from your account page here, and then download it from your My Products page. The claims process will redirect you to your My Products page automatically.

Is there a free trial for Topaz Photo AI?

Yes there is a free trial. You can download Topaz Photo AI from the downloads page here and run the installer. When you open Topaz Photo AI, you will be prompted to activate the application, purchase it, or to use the demo mode. Click the demo mode to use the trial.

The trial lets you use all the features of the application with the exception of saving/exporting a file. All features and plugins are included when you install. Make sure to take a look at the Topaz Photo AI Quick Start Guide to learn the basics of using this application.

What does a license for Topaz Photo AI get me and what are seats?

Your first purchase or claim of a license to Topaz Photo AI will give you two "seats" which allow you to log in to two devices at a time on your Topaz Labs account. If you need to use Topaz Photo AI on more than three devices or have multiple users on your account, you can add more user seats to your Topaz Photo AI license by already owning a user license and adding purchasing more copies of Topaz Photo AI again. Each additional purchase will add 1 seat to your license

You will also receive access to all updates to Topaz Photo AI from the date of purchase until one year after the date of purchase, and you can purchase additional upgrades in the future as needed.

How long does a license for Topaz Photo AI last?

Purchasing Topaz Photo AI for the full price will add a 1 year license to your account.

Claiming Topaz Photo AI with a currently active Image Quality Bundle, completing the Image Quality Bundle, or purchasing a Photo Upgrade Plan if any of your image quality applications are expired will add a license that expires with the longest active upgrade license you currently own.

Adding a Photo Upgrade Plan for your image quality applications after claiming or purchasing Topaz Photo AI does not extend your current Topaz Photo AI license.

How do I use Topaz Photo AI?

When do I use Topaz Photo AI on my image?

Great candidates are noisy images, low resolution images, blurry/out of focus images, and any images with a mix of those issues. As Topaz Photo AI is built with the combined functionality of DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Gigapixel AI, it can fix image quality issues in one step instead of requiring the three steps that the separate applications would require.

We recommend using Topaz Photo AI in the beginning of your workflow so you have a high quality image to work with, or jumping in and out as you determine the next image quality issue you need to fix.

What file types are compatible with Topaz Photo AI?

Topaz Photo AI will be compatible with all commonly used image types including: .JPG, .JPEG, .PNG, .TIF, .TIFF, .DNG

Topaz Photo AI will also have support for the many RAW camera files from the following list, including cameras from all your favorite camera manufacturers: LibRaw Supported Camera List

If your file type is supported but not working as expected, email help@topazlabs.com with the image file and describe the conflict so support can verify the behavior.

Will you be putting X feature into Topaz Photo AI?

At present, our priority is polishing Topaz Photo AI to deliver on our promise of auto-pilot for image quality. For that goal there are some features which we believe are necessary, including:

  • Autopilot for basic lighting adjustments
  • Cropping
  • Autopilot controls
  • XMP support (RAW edits)
  • Plugin support for commonly used image editors and image catalog application
