Before uninstalling or upgrading to a new plugin version it is important that you export any created presets that you wish to be saved. These presets can be imported back into the reinstalled or upgraded program.

To Export:

  1. Click on the export icon (located on the bottom left corner of the user interface under the preset panel).
  2. Name your preset and save it to your desktop or other specified location that you have reserved for saved presets.

To Import:

  1. Click on the import icon (adjacent to the export icon).
  2. This will open up a “Browse” box to import a saved preset from your computer into the plugin.
  3. Please note that your Imported Preset will land in the Collection you currently have selected (i.e. selecting **My Collection** will import your preset into the **My Collection** folder)

If your presets do not show up after importing, switch to a different preset Collection, then switch back.  Also, please be sure to only import presets for the plugin you are using.  For example, if you Import a Topaz Detail preset into Topaz Clarity, you will cause a crash in the application.  The only way to resolve that issue is to manually delete the presets using a File Browser.  Please see below, in alternate methods.

Sharing Presets:

Exported presets can be shared with others through email, USB, or a file sharing system such as Dropbox.

Importing Downloaded Presets

Some of our Webinar presenters, YouTube presenters, and other Topaz Labs users like to share their presets online, and choose to do this by compressing their preset files into a ZIP (.zip) file.  In order to import their presets, you must first Un-Zip the file that you downloaded.

On a Mac, to uncompress (expand) an item, simply double-click the .zip file.
On a PC, Do one of the following:
To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder from the compressed folder to a new location.
To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

Once you have downloaded the .zip file, and uncompressed/expanded the files, you will need to copy them to their appropriate location in your Presets folder.  For example, adding a preset file to Topaz Adjust, you will need to move your Preset files (.tpp) to the following location on your machine.

 Mac:

Computer/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs/Adjust 5/Presets/

 Windows:

64bit OS - C:/Program Files (x86)/Topaz Labs/Adjust 5/Presets
32bit OS - C:/Program Files/Topaz Labs/Adjust 5/Presets

Once you have copied the files into your Collection Folder, delete the Topaz Presets DB file and restart the plugin to see the new presets.  The Topaz Preset DB can be found here:

Mac: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs/Adjust 5/Data/
Windows: C:/Program Files (x86)/Topaz Labs/Topaz Adjust 5/TopazPresetsDB

That's it! Enjoy your new presets!
