If you are receiving a warning from Norton when trying to install Topaz Labs software, keep in mind that there are no threats within the download and that this alert is a “false positive”.

We have reported the issue to Symantec (creators of Norton) and they will be updating their database to include our installers as a “safe file”. This process usually takes a few days for them to finalize on their side. I would suggest checking back with us in 2-3 business days and we should have more information from Symantec.

We can absolutely assure you that the file is safe for installation and poses no threat to your computer.

Symantec has requested that you report the false positive via their web form:

The more of our customers who do this, the quicker they will recognize and address the false threat.

I would also suggest ensuring that your version of Norton is updated with the latest version from Symantec. You can find more information on their website, Virus Definitions & Security Updates.

Depending on your version of Norton, you should be able to flag the ReMask installer as a "safe" file. The exact instructions to do so will depend on your version of Symantec's software. You may want to contact Symantec Support in regards on how to bypass the protection to install ReMask. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist in disabling or removing Norton Antivirus.
