Automatic Preset Import

If you have created custom presets in Simplify 4.1, and want to make sure you can continue using them in Simplify 4.2, we have good news! Simplify 4.2 detects those custom presets and collections from your previous version and places them in their proper collections during installation. This means you can seamlessly update and continue to use the latest version of Simplify 4, without the added work of moving your presets. You must have Simplify 4.1 installed when installing Simplify 4.2, for this feature to work.

Preset Controls Moved

We noticed that we were making you click an extra button to get to your preset controls, so we moved them to an easier to find location: the bottom of the preset panel.

Topaz Labs Effects Locked

All effects included with Simplify 4 can no longer be deleted. We found many customers accidentally deleted presets unintentionally that required them to reinstall the application. This issue is now a thing of the past!

Duplicate Preset Name Bug Fixed

In previous versions of Simplify, saving a preset that already existed was allowed, and it caused some serious problems. Most notably, the plugin would stop working! Oh no! We fixed that, too.

Install Location Changed

Topaz Simplify 4.2 is now installed in the following folder:

Mac

/Applications/Topaz Labs/

Windows

C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs

We changed this location because we are starting to clean up our installation locations. Gradually, all Topaz Labs products will be installed to the /Applications/Topaz Labs/ folder. Do not start moving applications to this folder, just yet. We have some changes to make before all products can be installed here, so please wait for updates to organize your Topaz Labs software. Thanks!
